What is Taberna Lx? Occupying the reimagined two-storey Dundas West address that formerly housed Paris Paris, Taberna Lx is an ambitious Lisbon-inspired tavern from Kelly Amaral, chef Jonathan Poon, and Gani Shqueir. Lisbon architect Joana Astolfi styled the interior with authentic hand-painted Viúva Lamego tiles, ochre banquettes, and marble countertops, flanked by an intimate upstairs lounge and a sunlit rooftop patio.

Taberna Lx Menu & What to Order The kitchen updates classic Portuguese petiscos and tavern plates with refined technique, opening strong with gooey beef croquettes, lacy salt cod fritters, and fiery Shrimp Mozambique. For mains, order the pressure-cooked Duck Rice folded with duck confit and smoky chouriço, or the Café Steak served in a velvety brandy-cream sauce with house potato chips and a fried egg. To drink, explore the all-Portuguese cellar curated by Grape Witches' Krysta Oben—loaded with mineral-rich volcanic bottles from the Azores—or sip house twists on classic cocktails spiked with Ginjinha.

Know Before You Go Dinner reservations fill up well in advance for weekend prime times, but walk-ins can usually grab a counter perch at the front bar or upstairs. The easiest transit route is the 505 Dundas streetcar, which drops you steps away between Ossington and Dovercourt. Taberna Lx opens for dinner service Wednesday through Sunday and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
