Sunrise Caribbean Restaurant

What is Sunrise Caribbean Restaurant? Set along York Mills Road in Fenside-Parkwoods, Sunrise Caribbean Restaurant is an unfussy, steadfast takeout counter built on genuine Jamaican home-style cooking. The room is stripped back and utilitarian, ditching sit-down dining room pretension in favour of brisk counter service and generous, heavy-handed platters.

Sunrise Caribbean Restaurant Menu & What to Order The kitchen hits all the Jamaican benchmarks, ladling out fall-apart Oxtail simmered deep in rich, savoury brown gravy alongside peppery Curry Goat and smoky Jerk Chicken. Traditionalists show up early for warm, scratch-made Red Peas Soup and comforting Stew Peas, both anchored by well-seasoned rice and peas. Don't leave without a couple of dense, sweet festivals and a side of golden fried plantains to balance the pepper.

Know Before You Go There are no reservations here—expect an active lineup during peak weekday lunch hours and weekend evenings, though the counter crew keeps orders moving quickly. Morning crowds can take advantage of Jamaican breakfast options until 11:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Parking is straightforward in the surrounding strip plaza, but remember to bring your own reusable bags for takeout orders.
