What is Saudade? Located at 1006 Dundas Street West in Trinity Bellwoods, Saudade is an artisanal Portuguese concept shop and daytime cafe co-founded by Nancy Fernandes and Connie Freitas. The bright, minimalist space pairs warm wood display shelves and soft natural light with a quiet coffee counter and relaxed casual seating. It translates modern Portuguese design sensibilities directly to the Dundas West strip, offering a tranquil daytime perch surrounded by imported ceramics, textiles, and literature.

Saudade Menu & What to Order The cafe counter focuses on classic Portuguese espresso culture and traditional bakery staples alongside pantry provisions. Order a warm, blistered Pastel de Nata alongside a velvety Galão or a sharp, single-origin espresso. For savoury cravings, pick up imported conservas—ranging from spiced tinned sardines to olive oil-packed tuna fillets—and pair them with fragrant loose-leaf teas. Plant-based milk substitutions are readily available across the espresso roster for dairy-free visitors.

Know Before You Go Saudade is entirely walk-in only with no reservations, operating as a relaxed daytime cafe and design boutique. Streetcar transit is effortless via the 505 Dundas line, with metered street parking scattered along Dundas and neighbouring residential side streets. While the retail shop is open daily, keep in mind that the cafe espresso counter is closed on Tuesdays.
