Rooster Coffee House (Broadview)

What is Rooster Coffee House (Broadview)? Perched at 479 Broadview Avenue overlooking the expansive green slopes of Riverdale Park East, this flagship cafe is Shawn Andrews and Dave Aspinall's long-running east-end institution. The interior is designed like an inviting, lived-in living room with vintage chandeliers, plush seating, and warm wood accents, while the front sidewalk patio provides postcard-worthy panoramas of the downtown skyline.

Rooster Coffee House (Broadview) Menu & What to Order The beverage program highlights house-roasted espresso and drip blends like the Atomic Rooster alongside velvety flat whites and specialty matcha drinks. Pastry cases are restocked every morning from premier Toronto bakeries, dishing out fresh scones, flaky croissants, and vegan treats sourced from Tori's Bake Shop. Savory lunch options are surprisingly robust, anchored by the vegan Cool Ranch wrap loaded with smoky tofu and roasted cauliflower, as well as hearty grab-and-go kale Caesar salads.

Know Before You Go Seating operates on a strict walk-in basis, and prime sidewalk patio tables fill up fast on clear weekend mornings and during sunset. The 504 King and 505 Broadview streetcars drop off right near the door, with street parking available along neighbouring side streets. Notably, the shop remains open daily until 8:00 p.m., making it a rare late-operating community hub compared to Toronto's standard early-closing espresso bars.
