Public Pier is an open-air cultural pilot project that transforms Marina Quay West into an active community gathering place along Toronto's central waterfront. Spearheaded by The Bentway in collaboration with Harbourfront Centre, OCAD University, and the Waterfront BIA, the temporary destination explores the long-term potential of the pier before its planned transition into a municipal park. Positioned beside the Toronto Music Garden and overlooking the Portland Street Slip, the space brings together daytime waterfront recreation with evening programming, set against the backdrop of Lake Ontario and the historic Canada Malting Silos.
Visitors can explore a rotating schedule featuring free day-to-night programming. Offerings include the Super Yummy Market serving street food alongside local craft beer, open-air DJ sets, beginner-friendly dance workshops, and participatory art installations. After dark, the main draw is Silo Nights, where large-scale digital art and sound projections curated by OCAD U illuminate the towering facade of the Canada Malting Silos. Admission is free, seating is casual and outdoors, and visitors should dress for breezy lakeside conditions.
