Petah Tikva

What is Petah Tikva? Situated along Danby Avenue in Clanton Park, Petah Tikva Anshe Castilla Congregation is an esteemed Sephardic synagogue and cultural center rather than a commercial restaurant. Established as Ontario's first Sephardic synagogue, the facility serves as a vital focal point for North York's Jewish community. Inside, the property houses a serene religious sanctuary alongside versatile banquet and assembly halls tailored for community programs and milestone events.

Petah Tikva Menu & What to Order As an active house of worship and community hub, Petah Tikva does not offer walk-in dining or standard à la carte restaurant service. Instead, its culinary operations center entirely on private banquet hosting and supervised kosher catering for lifecycle events, bar mitzvahs, and communal celebrations. These catered functions showcase traditional Sephardic culinary customs, featuring Moroccan and Mediterranean kosher fare prepared specifically for gatherings. Anyone seeking a meal here must do so through private event bookings or pre-arranged community dinners.

Know Before You Go Administrative offices operate Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays until 1:30 p.m., while religious service schedules coincide with daily prayer, Shabbat, and Jewish holidays. On-site parking and street parking along Danby Avenue accommodate guests visiting for services or events, with easy transit connections via Bathurst Street. Prospective event organizers and visitors should consult the congregation directly regarding hall rentals and catering arrangements.
