Oxtail Pho

What is Oxtail Pho? Located on Dundas West just west of Bathurst, this low-key Trinity Bellwoods eatery operated by Linda Tran and Damian Yiu delivers deeply comforting Vietnamese staples to evening diners and night owls alike. The narrow dining room is straightforward and unfussy, warmed by hanging Vietnamese lanterns over cozy dining tables.

Oxtail Pho Menu & What to Order The undisputed star is the namesake Oxtail Phở, loaded with tender braised oxtail and beef meatballs in a fragrant 24-hour broth simmered with oxtail, beef marrow, and charred aromatics. Beyond the signature soup, the kitchen serves up charred beef short ribs phở, rich crab meat vermicelli soup (Bún Cua), and crusty bánh mì stuffed with lemongrass pork belly or fried lemongrass tofu. Pair your meal with an iced Vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk or a cold Saigon By Night cocktail.

Know Before You Go Walk-ins are the norm for pairs and solo eaters, though tables of six or more can reserve by phone. Take note of late-night house rules after 10 p.m., which enforce single bills per table and a small sharing charge. Streetcars on the 505 Dundas line stop steps away, making it an easy pit stop during its daily late-night run until 4 a.m. (and 5 a.m. on Friday and Saturday).
