Located at 1485 Dundas Street West near Dufferin, Nile Coffee Club occupies the storied room of the former Four Stars bar, intentionally keeping the vintage exterior sign intact. Founded by Sandrine Somé and Taher Elsheikh, the Black-owned operation transitioned from a specialty wholesale bean roaster into a community cafe that seamlessly turns into a cocktail bar as evening sets in. The space balances warm wood finishes, low banquette seating, and a welcoming front counter built for daily hangs.

Nile Coffee Club Menu & What to Order The menu champions ingredients and ethically sourced beans rooted in the African diaspora. Morning regulars drop in for single-origin espresso, refreshing Brazilian limeade, and inventive creations like iced jelly coffee layered with genmaicha condensed milk alongside rum-vanilla canelés and beef sambusas. When the lights dim after 6:00 p.m., the bar shines with the Nile Martini—an espresso martini sweetened with orgeat and orange blossom—and the tart, sumac-rimmed Bissap made with roselle juice and gin.
