Nile Coffee Club operates a cafe and bar space on Dundas Street West, situated in the former home of a long-standing neighbourhood watering hole near the corner of Dufferin Street. Run by Sandrine Somé and Taher Elsheikh, this Black-owned enterprise transitioned from an online wholesale coffee brand into a physical west-end storefront that aims to celebrate coffee and ingredients rooted in the African diaspora. The venue functions as a daytime coffee shop before shifting into an evening bar concept, occupying a room that retains historical exterior signage as a nod to continuity within the local commercial strip.
Visitors can expect an eclectic menu spanning standard espresso drinks alongside inventive, globally influenced concoctions like jelly coffees layered with genmaicha-infused condensed milk, hibiscus-infused bissap, and savory cocktails such as okra martinis. The beverage program is complemented by a concise selection of snacks and sharing plates, including house-made pastries, beef sambusas, and charcuterie boards served with flatbreads. Operating hours run daily from early morning through late evening, accommodating both casual daytime work sessions and late-night socializing in a bustling urban corridor.
