Nice Slice

October 5, 2025
Nick White's path to Harbord Village's most-hyped pizza counter runs through Osgoode Hall — a law degree, then a detour through Mac's Pizza, then Nice Slice, a scrappy by-the-slice counter that's turned into a genuine cult favourite in under a year.
The pitch is simple: $5 slices, cut fresh from full pies made in-house, on an increasingly foodie stretch of Borden Street. It's counter service and paper plates rather than a sit-down room, built for a quick lunch or a late-night stop rather than a reservation.
The pizza
Classic pepperoni sits alongside more left-field options — a za'atar pie that leans into the herb's earthy, sesame-forward flavour, and a hot-honey-drenched spicy pie that's become one of the shop's signature orders. The pies favour a well-charred, slightly chewy crust over anything precious.
The vibe
Nice Slice keeps things low-key: cold beer and a short wine list to go with the slices, no pretension, and a crowd that skews toward locals treating it as a genuine neighbourhood spot rather than a destination trek.
