Mizunara

Mizunara in Entertainment District

Mizunara is a sophisticated, drinks-focused cocktail restaurant located in the heart of the Entertainment District. Led by owners Michael Liu and Jessica Huang, the venue is designed to introduce guests to the artistry of Japanese whiskey culture. The space is divided into three distinct areas: The Archive, which serves as the main room; The Gallery, a private dining space; and a social lounge. The interior is intentionally crafted to be more subdued and sleek than the surrounding nightlife scene, drawing inspiration from Asian bar culture and hospitality to create an immersive environment for whiskey education and appreciation.

For a first visit, guests can expect a menu that prioritizes a cocktail-first philosophy, including a unique cocktail omakase experience that features a guided, multi-course libations program. The drink menu is organized into thematic categories such as Time, Forest, and Whimsy, featuring creative offerings like the Tetsu Highball, which incorporates cheesecake distillate. The food program, led by executive chef Alyssa Figueira, complements the beverage selection with refined, seasonal dishes that draw artistic inspiration from figures like Vincent van Gogh and Antoni Gaudí. The venue offers both à la carte options and seasonal tasting menus, making it suitable for both casual visits and structured tasting experiences.
