Michael Garron’s Stavro Emergency Department is at 825 Coxwell Avenue, with the published walk-in off Mortimer Avenue east of Coxwell. Official tehn.ca and 211 Ontario list the main ED open 24 hours a day, seven days a week; 211’s ED line is 416-469-6435 and the hospital switchboard is 416-469-6580. Beside the main doors, the Child and Youth Emergency Zone treats children and youth 17 and under — official tehn.ca/programs-services/emergency/child-and-youth-emergency-zone currently posts that zone every day 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the main ED always available for any age when the zone is closed. Use the door immediately to the right of the main Emergency entrance for the kids’ zone. First-timers: this is East York / Danforth / the Beaches’ community teaching hospital, not a Level 1 trauma centre. The campus has been in a multi-year redevelopment with a new patient-care tower. Bring OHIP; parking is off Sammon Avenue.
