Makkah Restaurant

What is Makkah Restaurant? Located at 1020 Danforth Avenue directly across from Madina Masjid, Makkah Restaurant is a longstanding East Danforth fixture specializing in halal Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and North Indian comfort fare. The interior is strictly utilitarian and unfussy, appointed with bright lighting, straightforward booth seating, and simple dining tables built for rapid dining and bustling takeout volume. There is no bar counter or outdoor patio—the focus is entirely on community-oriented service and an active clay tandoor churning out sizzling grilled meats and breads.

Makkah Restaurant Menu & What to Order Charcoal tandoori meats and slow-cooked curries headline the menu, led by the deeply marinated, melt-in-your-mouth Bihari Kabab and charcoal-roasted Beef Seekh Kababs. Hearty plates of Chicken Biryani and Lamb Biryani arrive generously spiced over fragrant basmati rice, while the popular Footlong Kabab Roll bundled inside freshly baked naan makes for one of the neighbourhood's best handheld lunches. Vegetarians have solid options with rich Palak Paneer and crispy vegetable samosas, and everything pairs cleanly with sweet mango lassi or hot spiced chai.

Know Before You Go Dining is walk-in only with zero reservation system, though turnover is swift even during peak dinner windows and Friday post-prayer crowds. The storefront is positioned just a five-minute walk east of Donlands subway station on Line 2, with metered street parking available along Danforth Avenue. The kitchen stays open seven days a week from noon until 11:00 p.m. for dine-in, takeout, and third-party delivery.
