The sunlit dining room is packed with character, featuring banquette seating beneath family photos and eclectic knick-knacks, a busy espresso counter, and a breezy sidewalk patio in warm weather. It functions less like a cookie-cutter breakfast spot and more like a warm, bustling Egyptian family kitchen.

Maha's Menu & What to Order The kitchen turns out fragrant, deeply spiced Egyptian daytime staples and generous sandwiches on house balady bread, with halal meats and abundant vegetarian and vegan options. The Cairo Classic is essential—a comforting bowl of slow-simmered fava bean foole served with sliced boiled egg, a falafel disc, and charred flatbread—alongside the Egyptian Falafel, which encases soft-boiled eggs inside crisp, herb-flecked fava batter. Pair the spread with Mark's signature Honey Cardamom Latte or an Egyptian black tea with fresh mint, and start with the tart, vinegar-onion-topped red lentil soup.
