Grillies

What is Grillies? Perched at 149 Dundas Street East just east of Jarvis, Grillies is an unpretentious, counter-service diner operating 24 hours a day. The homegrown Ontario brand pairs griddled Tex-Mex staples with hefty smash burgers inside a brightly lit, utilitarian space fitted with quick-turnover table and counter seating. It functions as a dependable refueling depot for Toronto Metropolitan University students, local residents, and late-night downtown crowds.

Grillies Menu & What to Order The menu spans massive burritos, street tacos, loaded bowls, and flat-top burgers built to order with customizable fillings and dressings. The Monster Burger is the marquee item—stacking a seasoned smashed beef patty and grilled chicken on a soft sesame bun—while the daily burrito deals offer some of the best value in the core. Vegetarians are well looked after with spiced veggie patties and paneer toppings across bowls and wraps. Round out your order with a side of cheese fries, a chilled watermelon slush, or the saffron tres leches.

Know Before You Go There are no reservations here; simply walk up to the counter, place your order, and wait for your ticket number to be called. The room peaks during post-bar rushes between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on weekends, but the kitchen turns out orders at a rapid clip. Dundas East street parking is limited, so taking the 505 Dundas streetcar or walking from Dundas subway station is the easiest way to arrive.
