Grill Gate

What is Grill Gate? Positioned along the vibrant North York corridor at 4907 Yonge Street, Grill Gate is an Ontario-born quick-service fixture known for cross-pollinating classic North American comfort staples with Persian flavors. The counter-service room is bright, modern, and unfussy, featuring sleek wooden accents, clean tables, and comfortable booths tailored for fast meals and late-night cravings.

Grill Gate Menu & What to Order The kitchen operates entirely halal, building hefty sandwiches with morning-marinated meats, non-processed cheeses, and distinct house-baked buns. The standout order is the Signature Philly Steak Sandwich—stuffed with eight ounces of shaved rib-eye, sautéed mushrooms, melted mozzarella, fresh parsley, and house sauce—alongside the Tehran-style Cheeseburger 021 and the Beirut Burger topped with baba ganoush and fried onion chips. Round out the meal with a Special Steak Poutine and a chilled Persian yogurt drink (doogh) to cut through the richness.

Know Before You Go Grill Gate operates on a strictly walk-in, counter-service model, though lines move briskly even when peak dinner rushes kick in on weekends. Located midway between the North York Centre and Sheppard-Yonge subway stations, the shop is effortless to reach by TTC, while metered street parking and underground commercial garages sit nearby along Yonge. The kitchen runs daily from 11:30 a.m. onward, keeping doors open late on Friday and Saturday nights.
