Gianni's Pasta

What is Gianni's Pasta? Situated along the bustling stretch of Pape Avenue just north of the Danforth, Gianni's Pasta brings old-school, red-sauce comfort to Pape Village. Owner Gianni channels nostalgic, 1980s-era Toronto Italian sandwich counters and trattorias into a casual, warm neighborhood counter-service space equipped with cozy indoor seating and a relaxed curbside patio. The unpretentious room focuses on hearty portions, classic recipes, and quick, welcoming hospitality.

Gianni's Pasta Menu & What to Order Sandwiches take prime billing here, led by the stacked Veal Sandwich smothered in house tomato sauce and customized with sautéed mushrooms, fried onions, and hot peppers on bakery-fresh bread. The pasta lineup delivers crowd-pleasers like Fettuccine Carbonara spiked with cured guanciale and egg yolk, alongside a slow-simmered Rigatoni Bolognese that eats like a family recipe. For sides and lighter options, you will find crisp Potato Rapini and a plant-forward eggplant sandwich for vegetarian diners, all best rounded out with an imported Brio or San Pellegrino soda.

Know Before You Go Gianni's operates entirely on a walk-in, takeout, and delivery model, meaning reservations are neither needed nor accepted. It is a reliable late-night destination on the east end, staying open well past midnight during the week and until 3:00 a.m. on weekends. The restaurant is easily accessible via the 72 or 25 bus routes from Pape subway station, with metered street parking along Pape Avenue.
