Fran's Restaurant

What is Fran's Restaurant? Perched on Victoria Street in Downtown, Fran's Restaurant stands as a Toronto institution, a family-owned diner that has been serving up comforting, home-style cooking since 1940. It’s a casual, welcoming spot with a classic diner atmosphere, complete with booths, making it a reliable stop for a no-fuss meal. There's even a convenient entrance directly from the neighbouring hotel.

Fran's Restaurant Menu & What to Order The menu at Fran's leans heavily into Canadian and American diner classics, excelling in comfort food. You can't go wrong with the 'Banquet Burger' or the 'Big Breakfast', which truly delivers on its promise. Don't skip Fran's 'famous chilli' for a savoury kick, and for dessert, the 'award-winning rice pudding' or the 'homemade apple pie' are legendary and a must-try. They also offer 'made-to-order steaks' and excellent 'milkshakes' for a full experience.

Know Before You Go Fran's is open 24 hours a day, every day, so you can satisfy your cravings at any time, though it can get bustling during traditional meal hours. While large groups can make reservations, individual diners are typically walk-in friendly. Located centrally on Victoria St, it's easily accessible by transit, a Downtown staple that rarely disappoints.
