What is Eloise? Occupying 42 The Esplanade in the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood, Eloise brings polished sophistication to a strip historically known for casual pubs and legacy dining. Founded by brothers Graham and Dan Hnatiw and helmed by chef Akhil Hajare (formerly of Alo and Bangkok's Gaggan), the 85-seat room features rich walnut panelling, curved velvet banquettes, soft drapery pendants, and a streetfront patio. Hidden behind a discreet door at the back sits Bar Cart, a sultry railcar-style speakeasy designed for craft nightcaps.

Eloise Menu & What to Order Hajare executes a contemporary Canadian menu layered with French precision and global pantry staples. Essential starters include the golden potato pavé spiked with yuzu kosho and Thai basil aïoli, alongside a meticulously seasoned beef tartare. For mains, order the braised beef cheek pappardelle, roasted cabbage glazed in umami mushroom XO, or the tableside-carved Dover sole. Save room for the lemon parfait with Earl Grey jelly, and wash it down with the clarified Espresso Ghost cocktail.
