Edwards Gardens is the Civic Garden Centre at 755 Lawrence Avenue East, southwest of Leslie and Lawrence: perennials and roses on the uplands, wildflowers, rhododendrons, and a rockery in the valley. The City bought the Alexander Milne property in 1955 and still lists it as a feature garden park; Toronto Botanical Garden (777 Lawrence) sits on the same campus. Main visitor entrance is just south of Lawrence on Leslie. Parking is paid and enforced (TBG). Formal gardens follow posted Civic Garden Centre hours; the surrounding ravine (Wilket Creek) is City park hours 5:30 a.m. to midnight. First-timers: walk the formal beds, then drop into the creek if you want a hike. TTC buses along Lawrence to Leslie. 416-397-1341 for TBG; 311 for the park.
