Eastend Pie & Mash

Located in Leslieville, Eastend Pie & Mash is a tiny, 150-square-foot restaurant operated by chef Davy Love. Disguised behind a storefront for "Martian Business System Consulting Inc.," the space is designed to evoke a London home during the Blitz, featuring period-appropriate wallpaper, family photographs, and a model Spitfire. Love, a veteran of Toronto’s music and hospitality scene, created this venue to offer an authentic British dining experience, utilizing flour imported from a 400-year-old family-run mill in England to ensure the pastry’s texture is traditional and sturdy.
The menu focuses on classic London-style meat pies served with mashed potatoes and a choice of gravy or parsley liquor. Beyond the traditional offerings, the shop incorporates modern British street food influences, including chicken tikka masala pies, doner kebab pies, and mac and cheese pasties. Visitors can also find staples such as Cornish pasties, Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, and sticky toffee pudding tarts, alongside a selection of British and Scottish soft drinks like Irn-Bru. The shop is primarily takeout-focused, though it features a small counter by the window for limited seating. It operates on a specific schedule, typically open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until the food is sold out.
