What is Darosa Cafe and Restaurant? Located at the corner of Dufferin Street and Glencairn Avenue in the Yorkdale-Glen Park area, DaRosa Cafe & Restaurant is a welcoming, family-run Portuguese hub founded by Maria DaRosa in 2007. The laid-back space functions as part daytime cafe, part bustling hot counter, and part sit-down neighbourhood tavern, complete with bright cafeteria-style dining and a sidewalk patio in warmer weather.
Darosa Cafe and Restaurant Menu & What to Order Everyday staples revolve around Portuguese home cooking, anchored by juicy rotisserie chicken, charbroiled BBQ chicken, and tender pork with clams. Plates are generously portioned and built around combinations like whole grilled sea bream or lightly breaded sole alongside golden Parisienne roast potatoes, seasoned rice, and crisp bean salad. Pair your meal with an imported Super Bock and be sure to grab a freshly baked pastel de nata from the glass dessert case on your way out.
Know Before You Go Service is strictly walk-in with meals ordered directly at the counter or served casually in the dining room, making lines common during peak weekday lunch hours. Street parking is available along Glencairn Avenue and Dufferin Street, with direct access via the 29 Dufferin TTC bus. Keep in mind the kitchen is closed on Tuesdays and runs extended evening hours on Friday and Saturday.
