D & Y Sushi

What is D & Y Sushi? Anchoring the stretch just west of Keele at 2861 Dundas Street West, D & Y Sushi is a relaxed neighbourhood staple established by chef Dennis Liu and his wife Yao Yao. The dining room keeps things unpretentious and comfortable, featuring warm pendant fixtures, clean black-and-red accents, and deep booths alongside banquette seating. It serves as a reliable local anchor for Junction residents seeking honest, unfussy Japanese cooking.

D & Y Sushi Menu & What to Order The kitchen balances traditional nigiri and sashimi sets with a large roster of western-style maki and crunchy sushi pizzas. The crowd-favourite Green Dragon Roll layers silky avocado and tobiko over crisp shrimp tempura, while the Salmon Sushi Pizza arrives on a properly crisped fried rice patty tossed with diced fish and spicy sauce. Vegetarian diners have standout choices like the Veggie Dragon Roll stuffed with squash tempura and asparagus, easily rounded out with a chilled Japanese beer or hot roasted green tea.

Know Before You Go Tables are largely first-come, first-served with rapid table turns, though peak weekend dinner hours bring a flurry of takeout tickets that can slightly stretch wait times. You can easily reach the restaurant via the 40 Junction or 89 Keele buses from Keele subway station, with metered street parking lining Dundas Street West. The shop operates daily for lunch and dinner with the exception of Tuesdays.
