Crescent Bakery and Cafe

What is Crescent Bakery and Cafe? Set along Finch Avenue West in York University Heights, Crescent Bakery and Cafe is an unpretentious counter-service hub dedicated to traditional Turkish baking. The shop operates primarily as a streamlined grab-and-go depot, serving neighbourhood locals and university commuters dropping in for fresh morning bakes. The compact space is anchored by a glass display counter stacked with golden pastries, layered breads, and chilled dessert trays.

Crescent Bakery and Cafe Menu & What to Order The counter showcases classic Anatolian staples, led by circular, sesame-crusted simit and plush zeytin açma folded with briny black olives. Savoury appetites should gravitate toward the crumbly peynir poğaça stuffed with sharp cheese or a sturdy Turkish-style sandwich stacked with tomatoes, greens, and olives. For dessert, the caramel trileçe hits all the right notes with deeply milk-saturated sponge beneath whipped cream, alongside a tight rotation of flaky baklava including pistachio rolls and chilled varieties.

Know Before You Go There are no reservations here; simply walk up to the counter or order ahead for takeout, though expect a steady flow of delivery couriers during peak lunch and early evening hours. Surface parking is plentiful in the surrounding commercial plaza, and the 36 Finch West bus connects directly to Finch West Station. The bakery operates daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., ensuring reliable access from breakfast through post-dinner sweets.
