What is Cong Caphe? Perched along Bloor Street West in the Annex, Cong Caphe marks the North American debut of Hanoi’s cult-favourite café brand, originally founded by singer and artist Linh Dung. The two-storey space leans completely into Vietnam's 1980s subsidy-era aesthetic, dressed in utilitarian military green, floral peacock fabrics, retro enamelware, and rustic timber schoolhouse desks. It operates as a bustling counter-order hangout packed with students and neighbourhood locals sipping phin-drip brews under soft amber pendant lights.

Cong Caphe Menu & What to Order The undisputed headliner is the Coconut Coffee Smoothie, blending icy, sweetened coconut cream with bold, slow-dripped Vietnamese robusta espresso. If you prefer classic profiles, order the layered Bạc Xỉu or the Iced Salted Cream Coffee, both rich with sweetened condensed milk, or cool down with northern specialties like the tart Hanoi Dracontomelon soda and the nutty Coconut Green Rice Smoothie. Savoury cravings are sorted with toasted lemongrass chicken or grilled pork bánh mì stuffed with crisp pickled daikon, pate, and fresh cilantro, rounded out by traditional coconut and jelly chè desserts.
