Co-founded by Gary Rideout Jr. and James Elksnitis as the east-end sister location to their iconic Bloor West venue, Comedy Bar Danforth brings daily live stand-up, sketch, and improv to Danforth Avenue near Dawes Road. The expansive, fully accessible multi-level space features a 150-seat Main Stage, an intimate basement Studio Theatre, and an energetic lounge and dining room styled with theatrical mood lighting. Guests can pull up a seat at the main bar, settle into dining room tables, or order straight to their in-theatre seats during performances.

Comedy Bar Menu & What to Order Food operations are powered by resident kitchen Hooray For Pizza Day, serving up thick-crust, Detroit-style sourdough pizzas with lacy, caramelized cheese edges. The pepperoni pie drizzled with hot honey is the standout order, rivaled closely by their inventive Mexican-inspired Hawaiian and classic fresh-basil margherita options. Crispy seasoned chicken wings, loaded poutine, and fresh-cut fries offer reliable shareable pub grub for pre-show groups. Pair the food with rotating local craft drafts on tap, tall cans, or classic shaken cocktails.

Know Before You Go Unlike the staircase-heavy Bloor original, the Danforth location is fully wheelchair accessible with elevator service to all levels. The lounge and kitchen open daily between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with dining table reservations available via email or walk-ins welcomed before curtain calls. It sits a five-minute stroll east of Main Street TTC subway station, with free street parking available along Danforth Avenue after 6:00 p.m.
