Anchoring Dundas Street West just west of Bathurst in Trinity Bellwoods, Chop Chop is a family-run Taiwanese diner founded by chef Eric Tiao and his family, operating in the very space where his parents previously ran Yu Shan Dumpling Cuisine. The compact dining room features Jiufen-inspired woodwork, red chopstick setups, and hip hop beats, complemented by a breezy street patio during the warmer months. It delivers fast-casual neighbourhood dining rooted in attentive scratch cooking.

Chop Chop Menu & What to Order The kitchen nails Taiwanese street classics and wok-fired fare, headlined by crispy Taiwanese basil chicken, delicately pleated pan-fried pork and chive dumplings, and an exceptional version of General Tao chicken with a light, shatter-crisp crunch. Balance the richer mains with a bowl of garlicky smashed cucumber salad alongside wok-charred Shanghai noodles or rich braised beef noodle soup. Plant-based and celiac diners are thoughtfully catered to with dedicated vegan and gluten-free menus, which pair seamlessly with tall cans of Sapporo or house-infused cider punch.

Know Before You Go Seating is primarily walk-in only across its intimate 28-seat room, so expect brief waits during peak Friday and Saturday dinner rushes when delivery and dine-in orders surge. The 505 Dundas streetcar drops off steps from the front door, while street parking is available along Dundas and neighbouring residential side streets. The restaurant serves continuously for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, remaining closed on Sundays.
