Chicken Place

What is Chicken Place? Set along a commercial stretch of Champagne Drive in York University Heights, Chicken Place is an unpretentious, family-run counter serving flame-roasted and rotisserie poultry with Mediterranean touches. The low-slung space keeps decor straightforward and spotless, featuring functional indoor table seating where area tradespeople and York students drop in for quick daytime sustenance.

Chicken Place Menu & What to Order The flame-roasted rotisserie chicken is the main draw, spinning until the skin blisters with a smoky char while the halal meat stays tender and juicy. The go-to order is the Chicken Place Sandwich, panini-pressed hot with shredded bird, sharp pickles, and a generous swipe of garlicky mayo, sided with double-cooked fresh-cut fries. Those craving Mediterranean staples can pivot to the chicken souvlaki dinner or crisp falafel plate flanked by scratch-made hummus and house garlic sauce.

Know Before You Go The counter-service setup is strictly walk-in, and while the line moves swiftly, expect a brisk midday rush from nearby commercial offices between noon and 1:30 p.m. Drivers will find easy free parking both in the attached lot and along the street. Mind the clock before making the trek, as the shop operates strictly on a weekday schedule and locks up at 4:00 p.m.
