Centre for Early Childhood Education

What is Centre for Early Childhood Education? Located at 45 Golfdown Drive inside The Elms Junior Middle School in Elms-Old Rexdale, the Centre for Early Childhood Education is a licensed childcare facility rather than a commercial dining establishment. Serving children aged 18 months to 12 years, the facility replaces traditional dining rooms and bar counters with organized learning rooms, sensory play areas, and community school grounds. It provides the surrounding neighbourhood with structured daytime programming alongside dedicated early learning care.

Centre for Early Childhood Education Menu & What to Order While closed to the general public, the centre maintains a dedicated nutrition program directed by a full-time in-house cook. Following Canada's Food Guide and municipal Public Health requirements, the kitchen produces balanced morning snacks, hot midday lunches, and light afternoon refreshments. Dietary considerations are carefully monitored, with strictly separated halal, pork-free, vegetarian, and peanut-free meal schedules prepared fresh on site.

Know Before You Go Traditional dining reservations and public walk-ins do not apply, as access to the facility and its meal program requires formal childcare enrollment. Operating hours run Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., remaining closed over the weekend. School-zone parking and drop-off zones are accessible directly off Golfdown Drive, with local Rexdale transit routes stopping steps away.
