Captain's Chicken

What is Captain's Chicken? Perched along a busy commercial stretch of Lake Shore Boulevard West between 8th and 9th Streets in New Toronto, Captain's Chicken is a no-frills, counter-service joint dedicated to halal crispy poultry. Taking over a strip previously known for casual neighborhood chicken spots, the compact storefront focuses primarily on speedy takeout and delivery orders, though a few counter stools accommodate guests looking for a quick bite on site. The bright, straightforward space keeps the spotlight squarely on the sizzling fryers and a steady stream of late-night comfort seekers.

Captain's Chicken Menu & What to Order The kitchen specializes in 100% halal fried chicken that gets double-breaded for an ultra-crispy crunch while locking in juices. The standout order is the Honey Stung Fried Chicken Sandwich, featuring a generously breaded fillet dunked in a sweet, peppery honey-garlic glaze and stacked on a toasted brioche bun with tangy dill pickles. Purists gravitate toward the bone-in combos or the hand-breaded Super Tenders paired with seasoned potato wedges and a honey butter biscuit, while the deep-fried Oreos drizzled in caramel sauce offer a decadent finish.

Know Before You Go There are no reservations here; it operates strictly on a walk-in, grab-and-go model with ordering available via all major delivery apps. It is a lifesaver for night owls in South Etobicoke, slinging hot chicken daily from 11:00 a.m. until well past 2:00 a.m. Street parking along Lake Shore is generally manageable, and the 501 Queen streetcar drops off steps from the front door.
