Cafe Gigi and The Dirty Laundry

Located at 1186 Queen Street West in the former space of Cold Tea, Cafe Gigi and The Dirty Laundry is a dual-concept venue created by industry veterans Robin Goodfellow and Aldo Pescatore-Tardioli. The space operates as a European-inspired cafe during the day, offering coffee, baked goods, and light snacks. By night, it transitions into The Dirty Laundry, a high-volume cocktail bar and patio that serves Tex-Mex comfort food. The project aims to provide an accessible, high-energy environment that remains active throughout the week, blending professional hospitality with a casual, neighbourhood-focused atmosphere.
For a first visit, expect a flexible, counter-service experience that shifts in tone from a breezy daytime cafe to a lively evening bar. The menu is entirely gluten-free, catering to those with celiac disease while maintaining a focus on affordability and quality. During the day, you can order coffee classics, spritzy cocktails, and items like breakfast sandwiches or tinned fish. In the evening, the atmosphere intensifies with a focus on punchy cocktails, beer, wine, and Tex-Mex bar fare. The venue is designed to be approachable, but it can get busy, particularly on weekends when DJs and live music are featured.
