Bread House

What is Bread House? Tucked inside a commercial plaza at 4610 Dufferin Street in York University Heights, Bread House (also operating as Lavash Bread House) functions as a dedicated flatbread production bakery and retail counter. The setup is purely utilitarian and walk-up oriented, with no dining room tables, bar seating, or patio space. The entire facility revolves around specialized ovens producing high volumes of traditional Armenian-style thin flatbreads for both local wholesale accounts and walk-in patrons.

Bread House Menu & What to Order The production line focuses narrowly on authentic, paper-thin lavash and flatbread sheets made fresh without unnecessary additives. Shoppers visit specifically to stock up on large bags of traditional white lavash and whole wheat flatbreads designed for wrapping kebabs, soft cheese, and fresh greens. The bread is soft, pliable, and sturdy enough not to rip when rolled tightly, making it a regular supply stop for local households and caterers. Grab several multi-packs of the freshly baked thin lavash sheets to keep in the kitchen or freeze for everyday meals.

Know Before You Go Service is counter-only for quick takeout orders, meaning reservations are neither accepted nor necessary. Plenty of complimentary surface parking is available within the industrial plaza lot off Dufferin Street. Operating hours run standard daytime schedules during the week with shorter Saturday hours and Sunday closures, so plan pick-ups accordingly.
