Benny's Barbecue

What is Benny's Barbecue? Tucked down an alleyway just north of Eglinton on Yonge Street, Benny's Barbecue brings uncompromising Central Texas smokehouse craft to North Toronto. The setup leans entirely into rustic roadhouse simplicity, offering casual dining across communal indoor picnic tables and a bright, windowed covered patio. It is unpretentious and focused, built from the ground up to replicate an authentic hill-country pit stop where butcher paper and woodsmoke rule.

Benny's Barbecue Menu & What to Order The craft smokehouse repertoire is anchored by the beef brisket, sliced thick with a coarse black-pepper bark and rendered fat that melts instantly. Order the Texas Trinity platter to sample the core lineup alongside caramelized St. Louis cut side ribs and housemade jalapeño cheddar sausage links that burst with sharp heat. If you visit on a Wednesday, the cult-favourite Ribwich sandwich is non-negotiable, particularly when paired with rich brisket beans and classic potato salad.

Know Before You Go Benny's accepts walk-ins only and operates strictly under a 'sold out' cutoff, meaning top cuts like brisket and pork belly burnt ends can disappear well before evening. Plan to arrive near the noon opening on weekends to secure your full spread before the warmers empty. The restaurant is a brief stroll north from Eglinton subway station, which avoids the scarce street parking along this stretch of Yonge.
