What is Bellis? Located on the ground floor of the boutique Nomas Hotel at 561 Bloor Street West, Bellis brings a sharp Japanese-Italian itameshi concept to the Annex. Orchestrated by restaurateur Jeffrey Chu (915 Dupont, Yuugi Izakaya) and chef Attila Baksa (formerly of Guu Izakaya), the interior pairs terracotta walls and exposed brick with forest green seating and moody ambient glow. The versatile room operates as an airy coffee outpost by morning before shifting into an intimate dining room and cocktail counter at night.

Bellis Menu & What to Order Chef Baksa’s evening menu leans into umami-forward cross-cultural cooking, starting with the Toma-Toast layered with ginger-and-soy-marinated Campari tomatoes, yuzu-whipped ricotta, and fresh shiso. For mains, the uni cream linguine topped with tobiko delivers rich ocean brininess, while the Bellis rigatoni uses Hatcho miso to add savoury backbone. Carnivores will appreciate the smoked kamo tataki (duck breast) and wagyu carpaccio, balanced by vegetarian-friendly snack platters and pastas. Pair dinner with the cheeky Coffee & Cigarettes cocktail—a black sesame-infused rum espresso martini garnished with Pocky sticks—or the herbaceous Caprese Fizz.
