What is Bar Bokeh? Tucked behind Matcha Haus at 890 Queen Street East, Bar Bokeh is an intimate, speakeasy-style cocktail lounge founded by Leslieville native Annabel Ngo. Guests slip past the daytime cafe and push through an unlabelled maroon back door into a moody hideaway illuminated by ember-orange lighting and draped in tented muslin above the bar. Seating remains strictly intimate, centering on bar counter stools and low lounge tables designed for unhurried late-night drinking.

Bar Bokeh Menu & What to Order The drinks program showcases Asian botanicals, nuanced infusions, and mid-century glassware. Standout pours include the crisp Ume Highball with Thai basil and cucumber water, the floral Jasmine Water, and the citrus-forward Calamansi High. The kitchen backs up the bar with savoury share plates such as sai oua stuffed chicken wings, Thai curry octopus, and a vegetarian-friendly eggplant katsu sando, capped off by a rotating mango sticky rice sundae.

Know Before You Go Bar Bokeh operates entirely on a first-come, first-served walk-in model, meaning waits are common past 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The 501 Queen streetcar stops right nearby at Logan Avenue, making public transit far simpler than hunting for street parking along Queen East. The lounge opens Thursday through Sunday evenings from 6:00 p.m. onwards, staying distinct from Matcha Haus's daytime cafe service.
