Apna Food Bazaar

What is Apna Food Bazaar? Anchoring Dundas Street West in Islington, Apna Food Bazaar is a clean, reliable South Asian grocer operating alongside a bustling hot food takeout counter. The space is built entirely for shopping and fast turnaround, eschewing dining room seating in favor of well-stocked aisles and quick counter service. It serves as a community fixture where locals drop in to stock pantry essentials and grab warm street snacks on the fly.

Apna Food Bazaar Menu & What to Order The counter specializes in snackable, vegetarian-friendly staples, led by remarkably flaky aloo and paneer puffs seasoned with warm, aromatic spices. For a hit of vibrant street food, order the dahi puri or crisp chat papdi, both layered generously with tangy tamarind, sharp green chutney, and cooling yogurt. Round out your order by picking up syrupy gulab jamun or dense khoya milk cake by the pound from the mithai display, accompanied by a freshly poured masala chai or chilled mango lassi.

Know Before You Go This is strictly a walk-in, grab-and-go setup with no dine-in tables, meaning orders are packed quickly even when the grocery aisles get busy around late afternoon. Operating hours run consistently from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. seven days a week. Street parking is available along Dundas Street West, with Islington subway station just a short bus ride away.
