What is Ali's Wraps? Stationed curbside at 40 St George Street right outside the Bahen Centre for Information Technology, Ali's Wraps is an anchor of the University of Toronto's food truck strip. Instantly recognizable as the vibrant green truck on campus, this no-frills mobile kitchen dispenses halal Middle Eastern comfort food to time-strapped students, faculty, and Annex neighbours. There is no indoor dining room or bar—patrons order at the takeout window and take their foil-wrapped lunches to nearby campus benches or steps.

Ali's Wraps Menu & What to Order The menu is fully halal and focused on charcoal-charred spit meats, hearty platters, and classic street snacks. The Chicken Shawarma Wrap and peppery Beef Shawarma Wrap—or a mixed combo of the two—come tightly rolled in soft flatbread loaded with pickles, crisp lettuce, and generous splashes of garlic sauce and tahini. Vegetarians are well-served with golden Falafel Wraps and flaky vegetable samosas, while the gravy-drenched Chicken Poutine is a heavy-hitting favourite for cold study days. Wash it down with a classic canned Nestea or ginger ale.

Know Before You Go Service is strictly walk-up with counter ordering, and lines can surge during peak weekday class transitions between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Street parking is extremely restricted along St. George Street, so walking from the nearby St. George or Queen's Park subway stations is best. The truck generally serves daily from late morning through the early evening.
