Adrenaline is the Queen West walk-in veteran at 239 Queen Street West — family-run in Toronto since the late 1990s, still posting “tattoos, not attitudes” on adrenalinetoronto.com. Resident artists on the contact page include Todd Marritt (Japanese and most styles except hyper-realism), Trevor Huntinghawk, Johnny Day (Americana), Jony Somoza (black-and-grey realism, sketch, watercolour), and Kelly Mason. Piercings are recommended by appointment even if tattoos still take walk-ins. First-timers: this is a true street-shop with named artists, not an anonymous mill. Walk in with a simple idea or book a consult for anything large, and do not confuse it with the newer late-night flash rooms a few doors west.
