Absolute Comedy

What is Absolute Comedy? Tucked beneath street level on Yonge just north of Eglinton, Absolute Comedy delivers a classic, subterranean comedy cellar energy stripped of pretension. The low-ceilinged, 170-seat basement room packs communal table seating around a central stage, where the clinking of pint glasses shares the floor with live stand-up sets six nights a week. It is an unvarnished slice of midtown nightlife built on straightforward laughs and casual, no-frills tavern fare.

Absolute Comedy Menu & What to Order The kitchen leans unapologetically into dependable pub staples engineered for dark rooms and quick turnarounds. Plump, saucy chicken wings emerge hot from the fryer, serving as the perennial crowd favourite alongside crisp, easy-sharing bar bites. Draft beer and approachable well cocktails keep table orders flowing smoothly before the headliner takes the mic. Opt for the dinner-and-show package if you want a guaranteed table and a complete meal ahead of showtime.

Know Before You Go Advance reservations are required online or by phone, secured with a credit card under a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. Plan to arrive 30 to 40 minutes before showtime for standard seating, or two full hours early if you have booked a dinner package. The club is a short stroll from Eglinton station, though note the basement room is accessible only via a flight of stairs.
