Absolute Bakery

What is Absolute Bakery? Anchoring Parliament Street just south of Wellesley in Cabbagetown, Absolute Bakery is a steadfast, family-run fixture that has served the neighbourhood for over a decade. The modest storefront operates strictly as a grab-and-go operation, fronted by loaded glass display cases lit with simple overhead fixtures. There is no sit-down dining room or patio seating, just a brisk counter setup built for quick pickups of fresh breads and morning treats.

Absolute Bakery Menu & What to Order The counter showcases an eclectic cross-section of classic French viennoiserie and Sri Lankan savoury baking. Standouts include their flaky, multi-layered cream cheese danishes, sugar-crusted giant palmiers, and well-spiced beef rotis and curry patties that make for a satisfying, budget-friendly lunch. Savoury quiches and spinach-feta croissants are equally dependable, and their freshly baked challah and crusty sourdough loaves sell out fast.

Know Before You Go This is a walk-in only spot where transactions move swiftly across the counter even during peak weekend morning rushes. Metered street parking along Parliament can be scarce, making the 65 Parliament bus or 506 Carlton streetcar the easiest way to arrive. The shop opens early seven days a week, and unsold danishes are often bundled at steep discounts the following day.
