VT Insider Tip

The author readings are the highlight. Check the schedule in advance and plan around 2-3 must-see authors. Kids' programming is excellent if you have young readers.

About

Word on the Street turns Queen's Park Circle into a book lover's paradise for one Sunday in September. Publisher booths, author readings, literary panels, kids' programming, and more — all free. It's a perfect fall afternoon event that celebrates reading and writing.

What to Expect

One Sunday from 10am-5pm. Publisher and bookstore booths, author readings on multiple stages, writing workshops, and kids' activities. Relaxed outdoor atmosphere.

Pro Tips

Bring cash for book purchases (some smaller publishers don't take card). Many authors sign books after their readings. The park gets sunny — bring water and a hat.

Getting There

Queen's Park Circle. Museum or Queen's Park subway station. Walk from either direction along the ring road.
