VT Insider Tip

The butter sculpture is a Royal tradition — always check it out. The food halls have incredible artisan food samples. Go on a weekday to avoid school group crowds.

About

The Royal is a unique Toronto experience. For 10 days in November, Exhibition Place becomes home to livestock competitions, horse shows, agricultural displays, and food tastings. It's the world's largest indoor agricultural fair, and it's a surprisingly fun day out even if you've never been near a farm.

What to Expect

10 days of agricultural exhibitions, horse jumping, livestock shows, food halls, and educational programming. Expect families with kids and school groups on weekdays.

Pro Tips

The equestrian events (especially evening horse jumping) are genuinely thrilling even if you know nothing about horses. The food hall is worth the trip alone — hundreds of Ontario food producers with tastings.

Getting There

Enercare Centre and surrounding buildings at Exhibition Place. Same transit as CNE: 509/510 streetcar or Exhibition GO.
