VT Insider Tip

The first two days are professional trade only — general admission opens Saturday. If you're not in the trade, plan for the weekend and expect it to be considerably busier than the industry days.

About

The Interior Design Show has been Canada's premier design trade fair since 1999, pulling in international keynote speakers, immersive installations, and hundreds of exhibitors at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It runs trade-only days first before opening to the public for the weekend, and it's as much a barometer of what's next in Canadian design as it is a shopping trip.

What to Expect

Sprawling convention floor packed with furniture, lighting, and product vendors alongside architecturally ambitious installations and talks from name-brand designers. Expect it to take a full afternoon to see properly, and expect crowds concentrated around the flagship installations.

Pro Tips

Wear comfortable shoes — the show floor is enormous and there's a lot of standing around installations. Buy tickets online in advance; walk-up pricing is higher and weekend lines can be long.

Getting There

Metro Toronto Convention Centre is directly above Union Station — take the subway or GO to Union and follow the underground path, no need to go outside in January.
