VT Insider Tip

Check the performance schedule before arriving if there is a particular hālau you want to see. North York Centre station exits beside the square, making the subway much easier than driving.

About

AlohaFest Toronto brings Hawaiian and wider Polynesian culture to North York through hula, music, food, crafts and community programming. Presented by Hālau Hula I Ka Lā, the festival began in 2015 and marked its 10th edition in 2026. It is free, outdoors and designed for all ages.

What to Expect

A full day of main-stage hula, Tahitian and Pacific dance, live island music, children’s activities and a marketplace of food and craft vendors. The 2026 anniversary edition scheduled 20 acts, a free ukulele workshop and programming from late morning through the evening.

Pro Tips

The event runs rain or shine. Bring sun protection and water for the afternoon, then a light layer if staying into the evening. Admission is free and the square is step-free.

Getting There

Mel Lastman Square is at 5100 Yonge Street, immediately beside North York Centre station on Line 1. Use the subway when possible; parking and Yonge Street traffic can be busy during large square events.
