Yoga Storytime for Children Ages 4-8

Tuesday, August 4, 2026
11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
S. Walter Stewart — Auditorium
Turn storytime into an active adventure! The S. Walter Stewart Library in East York hosts a special movement-based yoga program designed specifically for children ages 4 to 8. Led by Megan Snider, author and founder of Appleseed Yoga for Kids, this interactive session brings beloved stories to life through simple poses, breathing exercises, and playful songs.
Children are encouraged to engage at their own comfort level—whether they want to follow along closely with every pose, try out partial movements, or invent their own interpretations of the story. It's an accessible introduction to mindfulness and physical activity that gets kids excited about both reading and staying active.
Practical Information
This free drop-in family event takes place in the auditorium at the S. Walter Stewart Library (170 Memorial Park Avenue). Parents should note that registration is required specifically for participating children ages 4 to 8, though younger siblings can often check out preceding events.
Located right in the heart of East York near the East York Collegiate Institute, the library is easily accessible by TTC. Make a morning of it by pairing the session with a picnic or playground trip at nearby Stan Wadlow Park just a short drive or bus ride away.
