Ukulele Squad

Get ready to make some noise in Parkdale! The Parkdale Library is hosting 'Ukulele Squad,' a free, week-long beginner music workshop designed specifically for kids ages 8 to 12. Presented in collaboration with the Toronto Blues Society, this hands-on program gives children the chance to learn basic chords, play familiar songs, and build confidence through group music-making.

What to Expect No prior musical experience is necessary, and ukuleles will be provided for all participants. Over five daily sessions (Monday, August 10 through Friday, August 14, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM), young participants will explore rhythm and melody in a supportive, fun environment, discovering the joy of playing an instrument alongside other kids in the neighbourhood.

Practical Details Registration is required for this program, and parents should ensure participants can commit to attending all five consecutive sessions. Parkdale Library is located at 1303 Queen Street West, easily accessible by the 501 Queen streetcar. After class, families can grab a treat nearby on Queen West or head down to explore the waterfront parks just a short streetcar ride away.
