Queen West's beloved cultural hub DROM Taberna is set to host an extraordinary evening of genre-defying global music with *The Confluence Tour: Agneya*, celebrating the upcoming release of the percussionist's debut album.
The Sound
Led by award-winning Indian-Canadian percussionist and composer Agneya, the ensemble bridges ancient Hindustani rhythmic cycles and tabla traditions with contemporary improvisation, cinematic textures, and global grooves. Raised in Western India amidst traditional music and early 2000s MTV rock, Agneya's music treats rhythm as a shared, living language rather than a technical display.
Opening Act: The Nhapitapi Duo
Kicking off the night are Moyo Mutamba and Memory Makuri, known as the Nhapitapi Duo. Taking their name from the Shona word for "sweet sounds," they channel traditional African roots into modern Afro-jazz, funk, reggae, and ska.
