A Howland Company production in partnership with Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, *take rimbaud* is a performance poem that traverses the worlds of Arthur Rimbaud, Paul Verlaine, Sylvia Plath, and Sappho. Set in both 2014 Toronto and 1871 France, the play explores post-art school malaise and the commodification of queerness.
Why You Should Go
This is a bold, experimental piece that asks if we can still talk about the apocalypse as if it hasn't already happened. With four poets, a sloppy love triangle, and an electric oven, the narrative is as slippery as the time it explores. It's a must-see for those who enjoy theatre that challenges conventions and flirts with the edges of creation and violence.
