Lassonde Art Trail
Explore the intersection of art, architecture, and ecology with 'Sketch & Walk: Reading Plants Through Sketching,' a unique outdoor workshop along the Lassonde Art Trail in the Port Lands. Led by landscape designer and artist Julie Ourceau, participants will explore the trail's public art installations while learning how to observe and record the essential characteristics of trees, shrubs, and perennials.
Designed for advanced beginners, the session focuses on form, texture, and plant massing rather than hyper-detailed botanical drawings. Participants are asked to bring their own sketchbook and graphite pencils and dress for the weather. It's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon engaging creatively with Toronto's evolving public spaces and contemporary landscape architecture.
