Princess of Wales Theatre
Shucked — the Tony Award-winning musical that The Wall Street Journal calls "flat out hilarious" — is making its highly anticipated Canadian premiere at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre, running March 3 through April 5.
The Show
It's a farm-to-fable musical comedy about corn. Yes, corn. A small farming community's crop is mysteriously dying, and they send their least-qualified citizen to the big city for help. What follows is a genuinely hilarious, surprisingly heartfelt story with a score by Grammy-winning Nashville songwriters Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. The book is by Tony winner Robert Horn, and the direction comes from three-time Tony winner Jack O'Brien.
The Cast
Canada's own Danielle Wade — who rose to fame as the winner of CBC's "Over the Rainbow" — leads the cast. The production brings Broadway-caliber talent to a venue that deserves it.
Getting Tickets
Available through Mirvish at mirvish.com. The run is five weeks, so there's time — but weekend shows will sell fast.
