Scientists in School: Ride ‘n’ Roll with Science

Bring the excitement of an amusement park indoors as Scientists in School takes over the Fairview Library with a high-energy workshop exploring the physics of motion.

Designed specifically for children ages 6 to 12, 'Ride ‘n’ Roll with Science' invites young learners to experiment with the forces behind their favourite carnival attractions. Participants will investigate action and reaction with bumper cars, test out spinning forces, build a mini zipline to study gravity, and design a custom roller coaster to solve a mechanical challenge.

Practical Details The program is held in Room 201 at the Fairview Library, located at 35 Fairview Mall Drive in North York. This is a free drop-in event, but seating is limited, and free tickets will be handed out at the 2nd-floor desk 15 minutes before start time. Note that large groups and daycares cannot be accommodated due to capacity limits. Make a day of it by pairing the workshop with a visit to the adjacent Fairview Mall for lunch or shopping.
